What:  A weekend Kodiak Course Director Conference!


Why:  As of Aug 2007 there are no longer any week long Kodiak CDC courses being offered at Philmont and Sea Base. It has been a national decision to take these courses to the region level. So this is your chance to become involved!


When:  Registration begins at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 19th The conference will end before 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th.


Where:  Greater Alabama Council, Camp Comer Mentone, Alabama


Who should attend?:This conference is for anyone interested in learning more about how to plan a Kodiak course. Future trek directors, assistant trek directors, instructors, staff advisors and other Venturing leaders interested in bringing Kodiak to their crew and/or Council are encouraged to attend. Much information presented will provide a strong foundation as you plan for your course.


Conference Curriculum:  An enthusiastic staff of Kodiak trainers will cover a wide range of topics, including: course standards and guidelines, course format, approval process, budgeting, staff selection & development, participant recruiting, logistics, etc. In addition, we will present a number of actual Kodiak commissions. Ample time will be dedicated to answering questions about how to run a successful course.


Limited Space:  Space is limited for this exciting course. If you are interested in attending, please sign up early before it fills up.


Fee:  $95.00 – Includes lodging, meals, and conference materials.
