Opportunity to Explore

Youth, 14 -20 years of age, are invited to learn about law enforcement as a career.  

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has been sponsoring Explorer Post 245 since 1969.  The Explorers are given a hands-on experience of law enforcement procedures and techniques, including:

• Arrest and Patrol Procedures
• Traffic Control
• Assisting Citizens
• Crime Prevention
• Forensic Science
• Basic First Aid
• Fingerprinting
• Report Writing
• Radio Procedures
• Firearms Safety and Training
